We’re moving our morning trade window

Starting on July 1, we’re moving our morning trade window from 10 a.m. ET to 9:30 a.m. ET. From now on, the window will coincide with the market open.

Why move the trade window up 30 minutes?

Two reasons:

First, we’re doing this to enable you to invest at a time when the daily market volume is typically high and when prices for securities and ETFs are closest to the overnight prices and market open prices.

Second, many of you have asked for the morning trade window to start at market open, and we’re currently in a place where we can make this happen.

What does this mean for you?

You’ll need to place your orders and make changes to your Pie prior to the market open to participate in morning trades. So, if you tend to wait until the last minute to make your changes, your last minute is now 9:29 a.m. ET. Set your alarms—looking at you Pacific Standard Timers.

The afternoon trade window that is available to eligible M1 Plus members will not change and will continue to be available at 3 p.m. ET.

Lastly, despite the time change, our trade windows will still work the same way, and you can learn all about how they work here.
